Where referrals come from
The request form appears below the results of RealPilot’s mortgage payment, renewal, refinance, prepayment penalty, affordability, down payment and similar calculators, and on its guides to renewals, preapproval, the stress test and first-time buyer programs, in English and French. Each page names its situation (buying, renewing, refinancing or breaking a mortgage), and every referral tells you which page it came from.
What you receive
An email for each referral, sent only to your brokerage, with the person’s name, email, phone number and province, the page they used, the time, and whether they also agreed to receive email from you. Nothing else: Ontario’s rules for unlicensed referrers allow contact information only, so RealPilot never passes on income, credit, property values or the numbers entered in a calculator, and never discusses rates or products.

How consent and disclosure work
- Before anything is sent, the visitor reads, in writing, that RealPilot is not a broker and gives no advice, that their name, email and phone will go to your brokerage (named, with your licence), and the fee you pay RealPilot per referral.
- They tick a separate, unticked box to consent to the referral, and another, optional one to receive email from you, which RealPilot asks for on your behalf with your mailing address and the right to withdraw.
- RealPilot keeps the exact wording shown, both choices, the time and form version for every referral, and can provide them if consent is ever questioned.
- Your brokerage makes its own written disclosure of the referral fee to the borrower, as your regulator requires. This is set out in a written referral agreement.
Fees and billing
- A fixed fee per referral, agreed in writing, and shown to visitors on the form.
- One brokerage per province: referrals are not shared with or resold to anyone else.
- The same person within 30 days is not sent again and is not billed.
- Billed monthly from the referral log, which lists every referral with its time and reference number.
Provinces
Ontario first. Alberta, Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan can follow under their rules for referrers. RealPilot does not offer paid referrals in British Columbia, Quebec or Manitoba, where the rules for unlicensed referrers do not allow this arrangement or have not been confirmed.
